JOIN US

It's easy to join us. There is no audition, and you don't have to know how to read music.     We believe anybody can sing with practice, and we welcome people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. Come to a practice at 10:30 AM on the first Sunday of the month, at the Maritime Labour Centre, 1800 Triumph, at Victoria Drive (entrance off Pandora Street parking lot).

Mid-week practices are held on Wednesdays from 7:00-9:00pm at the Vancouver Teachers' Association Office 2915 Commercial Drive @ 13th Avenue with choir director, Earle Peach. For further information call Carol Crabtree at 604-730-6906 or look on the Choir Schedule page.

We work in four sections: bass, tenor, alto and soprano. Our conductor can help you decide which section is for you.

We practice most Sundays from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. We do not practice on long weekends.  In months with no long weekends, we take one Sunday off, usually (but not always) the last Sunday of the month. We have a summer break from mid-July to September. You can check the choir's practice schedule on the web Choir Schedule or by emailing info@solidaritynotes.ca or calling Nicci Beninger at 604-204-0651.

COST:

Through the generosity of the Vancouver & District Labour Council we are able to use the Maritime Labour Centre without cost. We cover our other expenses by charging monthly dues on a sliding scale. Each singer pays the equivalent of one hour's net wage per month. We prefer 6 post-dated cheques in October and April.

The choir maintains a scent and perfume-free environment.
